Cornstarch is obtained by grinding the endosperm of the corn kernel into a fine white powder. It is gluten-free and has industrial, household, and cosmetic uses apart from its culinary uses. You can combine it with other common kitchen ingredients to treat several skin problems and boost skin and hair health.
Cornstarch has minerals and amino acids which boost skin health and brighten your complexion. It contains vitamin A that helps lighten dark spots and aids skin firming. The calcium and iron content aids skin cell renewal. It is beneficial if you have oily skin, as it absorbs excess oil from your face. Cornstarch is an excellent facial cleanser and leaves your skin looking fresh, soft, and smooth.
The protein content in cornstarch boosts collagen production in your skin, increasing skin elasticity and making you look younger. Cornstarch contains antioxidants that fight skin damage due to free radicals and thus, prevent wrinkle formation. It also contains vitamin C, which hastens wound healing and reduces scar formation.
Cornstarch effectively soothes skin irritations such as rashes and itching caused by sunburn, insect bites, or allergies. It is rich in tannins which have anti-inflammatory properties that are beneficial in treating acne and boils. Cornstarch’s moisture-absorbing properties make it effective as a deodorant
and as a drying powder to prevent diaper rash and athlete’s foot. If you dust the kitchen ingredient on oily skin it will soak the excess oil.
Benefits of Milk for Skin
Milk contains lactic acid, which has anti-aging and skin-lightening properties. Milk also helps cleanse your skin from impurities and dead skin cells and stimulates the growth of new skin cells. It soothes skin
inflammation and prevents skin dryness.
